Introduction

When we approach a subject like this I realize there will be opposition to it, not only from the pew but from the pulpit as well.

For the last 40 years, pastors have been letting this sin creep into the church family.  It may be to have a bigger crowd, or to keep the crowd they have.  Either way, it is a compromise that has caused the average church to become apostate.  Dr. Billy Kanoy told me one time, " If you get your eyes on the crowd, you will miss the Christ."

The Lord is more concerned with quality than quantity.  I had a preacher ask me, "If these compromising churches are getting people saved, should we lower our standards and win them to God?  Then at least they would go to Heaven."  I believe without a Godly standard to see the difference between the saint and the sinner, there is no conviction of sin, no repentance of sin and therefore, no salvation.  The way a person dresses reflects their heart's condition, Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:  Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee."  Matthew 12:34-35 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things: for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.  A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things:  and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things".  The way you dress shows your attitude and how you really are to others.  Ezekiel 16:16 "And, of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon:  the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so."  Proverbs 7:10 "And behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart."  Genesis 38:14-15 "And she put her widow's garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in a open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.  When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot: because she had covered her face." Say what you will, but the way you dress affects what others think of you.

This is a very important subject to deal with.  In this book, I will try to answer all arguments in defiance of this sin from a Biblical and historical prospective.

I realize that by writing this booklet, I will make enemies of some and friends of others.  But when I see Christians and churches in this apostate condition, and just going through the motions of Christianity, with no power of God due to this abominable sin, it breaks my heart.  My prayer is that God might use this simple booklet to help some pastors and people realize that this is a grievous sin in God's eyes and a major hindrance to the work of God.

As I endeavor to deal with this sin, I would ask you to keep an open mind and to search the Scriptures to see if these things be so.  If the KJV Bible is not your rule for all matter of faith and practice, then you ought to quit reading this booklet now, because you do not believe the Bible and there is no use in wasting your time.
