A preacher friend of mine which has been pastoring his church for forty years told me he believed that 90 per cent of his congregation was lost. That is in an independent Baptist Church. Here are some
other quotes that I found. Carl M. Sweazy says in his book,
Evangelism That Evangelizes, "Conservatively speaking, four-fifths
of the human race are on their way to the 'lake of fire' and
billions of persons of this generation, your generation and mine,
are eternally doomed." Oswald Chambers, in his book, My Utmost for
His Highest, made the statement that it was his conviction that only
15 per cent of all professing Christians had actually been saved. R.
A. Torrey said he believed that 10 per cent of those who profess to
be saved were really converted. Robert G. Lee, former president of
the Southern Baptist Convention, estimates that only one out of ten
members in Southern Baptist Churches is saved. Franklin Logsdon
estimates that only 2 per cent of the population of the world are
saved., 98 per cent are lost.
1Co 6:9-11 If you are not 100 per cent sure that if you died right now you would go to heaven then you had better better make sure now. All eternity in heaven or hell rest on your saved or lost condition. (see our salvation page.)
